Operation Stand Down; No Veteran Left Behind
- Operation Stand Down refers to a grassroots, community-based intervention program designed to help the nation’s estimated 38,000 homeless veterans “combat” life on the streets.
- 348 veterans attended Operation Stand Down, 71 stayed overnight.
- 102 veterans received 151 dental services (extractions, fillings, cleanings, dentures, & denture realignments) valued at $83,112.
Dominican Republic Dental Mission Trip
- Instructed University of Florida dental students with performing dental procedures
- Myself with other Florida dentists and UF dental students served the local and surrounding DR communities. We provided mostly extractions but we also performed fillings, root canals, 3D printed crowns, partials and dentures.
- It was a very humbling experience as most had no AC, dirt floors, no running water and no transportation. This experience served as a reminder to me that in our profession we have the ability to change people’s lives, not only abroad but also in our local communities.
